You Are Meant For So Much More
But you’ve been taught to chase it the wrong way.
Society has us believe we are only as valuable as what we do.
To be somebody, we need to be productive machines that output all day.
This might work for some with the right energy. But it's a lousy strategy for us creatives.
We are here to spend our time observing, learning, and processing so that we can develop our unique genius and gifts.
Society's conditioning blocks us from a very potent and beautiful reality.
The reality that we are inherently valuable just because we exist.
The interactions we have, the people we touch, and the lives we move are what we are here to do as artists and guides.
You have so much to give and offer the world, but you're tired, burnt out, and exhausted.
You've been told it's not normal to need as much rest as you do, but that's a lie.
Your greatest strength and the highest value you can offer the world will come from the downtime you seek.
Rest and rejuvenation allow your creativity to flourish. Innovation comes from your investment in downtime.
Deep down, you know this. And it frustrates you that you aren't fully sharing all your gifts.
You've been trying to produce more to compensate, but your creations fall flat or seem forced.
Trying to share your gifts by focusing on the output does more harm than good.
Every marketing guru screams at you:
"If you want to be successful, you must create more; you must post more!"
Yet when creatives do this, they feel less creative, more undervalued, and more overlooked than if they hadn't bothered.
I'm speaking from experience here when I say that posting more content consistently doesn't necessarily increase followers, engagement, or impact.
It's hard to accept that, especially when you've been disciplining yourself to push out more content.
But taking a step back this week has allowed me to see where my true value lies.
If you resonate with this, it's probably time to take a step back and surround yourself with supportive people who appreciate your unique gifts and insights.
These realizations have come from reflecting on beautiful conversations I've had with other creators this week who share the same sentiment.
If you've been feeling this shift too—the craving to create from truth, not pressure—I'd love to hear where you're at.
I put together a short questionnaire to understand what creatives like you are struggling with. If it feels aligned, fill it out. If I think I can help, I’ll personally reach out.
